Policies and helpful information
Please note that while the prices indicated are a general guideline, the actual price charged may vary depending on the number and type of pets you have and the number of visits per day. After we have met with you and your pet(s), we will be able to determine the actual cost per visit.
If at all possible, please give us 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. When you book our time, that may mean we are unable to care for someone else’s pet. A last-minute cancellation on your part means loss of income for us and inconvenience to another pet owner.
If we arrive for a visit as scheduled and you have forgotten to tell us to cancel the visit – because your plans have changed, or you have returned early – we do still charge for the visit. There is no charge for cancellations due to emergencies.
If at all possible, we like to get two copies of your key(s). This gives us a built-in backup in case the scheduled sitter cannot make a planned visit.
For your safety, your key is labeled only with your pet’s name (not your name and address). If you think you will be using our service again, we like to hang onto your key.
Cash and check are acceptable forms of payment. There is a $30 fee for returned checks.
For new clients, payment in full is required at booking (or, if booking is well in advance of key pickup, at time of key pickup). For established clients, payment is required on the first day service begins.
We do not like to return keys by locking them in your house on our last scheduled visit – we want to be sure we continue to have access to your pets and your home in case your return is delayed.
We charge an additional $5/visit on major holidays: New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
We can usually accommodate same-day and last-minute requests for established clients.
