In-Home Boarding/Dog Boarding and Day Care
Pet Visits -
Smooches for your pooches, kisses for your kitties, breakfast for your birds, food for your fishies, snacks for your snakes – we’ll work with anything nonvenomous! Whether you’re just going to be gone overnight, or will be away for an extended length of time, we can provide experienced, loving care for your pets and your home. MORE
Dog Walks/Puppy Potty Breaks -
Long workdays, busy social lives, and not enough free time are a fact of life for many people these days. Having us visit your dog can help you stress less about leaving your pooch home alone. We can walk your dog daily, play with your dog, and give your dog lots of love and affection to help break up the monotony of their day (or night). MORE
Dog Boarding and Day Care -
I have limited space for guest dogs in my home. I have a very dog-friendly house (with central air conditioning) and a beautiful, fully fenced double lot, with plenty of room for running, wrestling, playing, chasing squirrels, and napping (sunny and shady spots are available). While the weather is a factor (too hot, cold, or wet means less outdoor time), guest dogs get frequent bouts of outdoor playtime interspersed with indoor naptime. Dogs are closely supervised to ensure their safety and wellbeing, indoors and out. MORE

Rates
Our base rate starts at $20 per visit. A visit typically lasts approximately 30 minutes; we can visit one to four times/day depending on your pets’ needs and the services required. If we are doing multiple daily visits, we typically space visits 5-7 hours apart. We generally have a maximum of 10 hours between the last visit at night and the first visit the following morning.
There is no charge for our initial meeting and consultation with you and your pets – this is our chance to get to know each other and find out if we’re a good fit. We’ll talk with you about your pet’s food, medication, and playtime/exercise needs, and their medical and behavioral history. We’ll ask you to tell us about their quirky behaviors, weird habits, and favorite hiding places. We’ll also discuss your home care needs (eg, mail, trash) and ask about who else has access to your home (such as cleaners or contractors). If we’re a good fit, we’ll ask you to provide us with two sets of keys for your home, and/or your security access code(s), and discuss payment options. Final determination of cost per visit will be decided once we see exactly what the job entails. If there’s a service you’re interested in having us provide but you don’t see it listed, please ask – it may be possible!
A lower rate for care of small animals only (eg, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, fish) may be possible.
Dog Walks/ Puppy Potty Breaks
Long workdays, busy social lives, and not enough free time are a fact of life for many people these days. Having us visit your dog can help you stress less about leaving your pooch home alone. We can walk your dog daily, play with your dog, and give your dog lots of love and affection to help break up the monotony of their day (or night). A mid-day visit can be especially helpful for puppies and older dogs who need more frequent potty breaks, meals, or medication. “Walkies” are also great for younger or more high-energy dogs who need to burn off some of that drive so they don’t drive you completely crazy when you get home!
Rates
Our standard visit is $18 and lasts approximately 20 minutes.
We also offer a 30-minute walk for $21.
For dogs who only need quick let-out for a potty break, we offer a 15-minute visit for $15.
We do not usually walk multiple dogs at the same time, unless they are from the same household.
Please note that if the weather is an issue (too hot, too cold, or too wet), we’ll do our best to get Fido out to go potty, then will happily spend the remainder of the scheduled visit on some indoor attention and/or playtime.
We strive to be flexible, so “pay as you go” (payment at each visit), or weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly billing are all acceptable.

While this is a home boarding situation, it is not a cage-free environment. Dogs who are crated at home are crated when they stay with me. Dogs who are used to having the run of the house at home will need to be able to tolerate either crate time or time in an exercise pen – there are times when I’m not at home, and the dogs need to be segregated for their safety, as well as the safety of my home.
My own dogs love to play, but are also good at not pestering dogs who are not interested in, or unsure about, play. Dogs that are extremely shy (with people and/or other dogs), aggressive, very small or delicate will not be good candidates for boarding with me.
If you are interested in having your dog stay with me, we need to arrange a playdate to make sure your dog is a good fit with my dogs and my home. This ensures that I’ll feel confident that your dog will have a good time with me, and that you’ll feel comfortable entrusting me with your canine companion. If the playdate goes well, I also require a successful overnight stay before committing to a longer boarding stay.
Drop-off and pickup are by appointment, and are available seven days a week. Pickup is allowed as late as 9 pm. If you live in Ann Arbor, we may be able to provide pickup and drop-off service for your dog for a small additional fee.
Requirements
In order to become guest members of my pack, dogs must:
-
be at least six months of age, and spayed or neutered (exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis)
-
be able to get along well with other dogs and people
-
have good “house manners” – no inappropriate chewing, marking indoor territory, or excessive barking
-
be current on rabies and other core vaccinations as recommended by your veterinarian
-
be free of communicable diseases (including kennel cough, pinkeye, and worms)
-
be flea free and on flea preventative; if you use a topical flea preventative, please apply it at least 48 hours before your dog’s scheduled drop-off
