BOARDING IN OUR HOME

We have limited space for “guest dogs.” When dogs stay with us, they are integrated into our home life and our pack. We have a very dog-friendly house and a beautiful, fully fenced double lot, with plenty of room for running, wrestling, playing chase, chasing squirrels, and napping (sunny and shady spots are available). Dogs can go outside to go to the bathroom any time it is necessary and are closely supervised to ensure their safety and well-being, indoors and out.

Our dogs are allowed on the furniture. (Why do you think they call it “fur”-niture?) Dogs who are allowed on the furniture at their home will be allowed on the furniture at our home. If your dog is used to sleeping in bed with you, s/he will probably be sleeping in bed with one of the humans here. If your dogs are not allowed on the furniture at home, we won’t let them on it here.

The home pack loves to play, but they are also good at not pestering dogs who are not interested in, or are unsure about, play. Dogs who are extremely shy, aggressive, very small or delicate will not be a good fit for us.

If you are interested in having your dog stay with us, we need to arrange a playdate to make sure your dog is a good fit with our pack and our home environment. This ensures that we will feel confident in your dog having a good time with us, and that you will feel comfortable trusting us with your canine companion.

We’re pretty flexible in terms of drop off and pick up times for your dog. We can also provide pick up and drop off service for your dog, if you do not have a car, or if you will be leaving very early or returning very late. We are available for email and phone check-ins as often as you need while you’re away.

REQUIREMENTS
:

In order to become guest members of our pack, dogs must:
be at least 6 months of age and spayed or neutered (exceptions may be      made for younger pups on a case-by-case basis)
be able to get along well with other dogs and people
have good “house manners” (no inappropriate chewing, marking      territory, or excessive barking)
be current on rabies and other core vaccinations as recommended by      your veterinarian
be free of communicable diseases
(including kennel cough, pinkeye and worms)
be flea free and on flea preventive
be able to handle being alone for up to a few hours mid-day when we’re      out doing daily walkies for other clients
(most dogs are happy for this nap time)
have a signed “Authorization for Medical Care” form on file with us
arrive and depart on leash (we live in a neighborhood with lots of      pedestrians, squirrels, and free-roaming cats)

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:

written proof of your dog’s up-to-date vaccination status
your dog’s food, nutritional supplements, and favorite/acceptable treats
medications (if needed)
payment for your dog’s stay with us

You are welcome to bring your dog’s favorite bed, blanky, or toy(s), although we cannot guarantee they will be returned in the same condition. We may ask you to bring your dog’s crate.

We recommend that you not feed your dog within an hour of their arrival at our home – there’s usually a lot of running around and playing when a guest first arrives.

RATES
Prices are all-inclusive, and include mealtimes, supplements, medications, plenty of playtime and lots of attention and affection.
$35/day for a single dog for stays of 5 days or less
$30/day for a single dog for stays of 6 days or more
$50/day for two dogs from the same family
Stays of less than a full day will be pro-rated accordingly.

If your dog is staying with us, but your cats (or other pets) are staying at home, we’re happy to work with you on a discounted rate for pet sitting visits to those animals while you’re away.
